Autopsy Rooms

In SKS Medical College in SKS International University, there is autopsy room in a forensic department, which is a specialized facility where post-mortem examinations (autopsies) are conducted to determine the cause of death and gather forensic evidence. Autopsy Room is equipped with autopsy table, surgical instruemnts such as scalpels, forceps, scissors, bone saws, and other tools necessary for the dissection and examination of organs and tissues. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes gloves, masks, gowns, and sometimes face shields to protect against biological hazards.Digital Imaging Equipmentsuch as X-ray machines, CT scan, or MRI scan available for imaging certain cases to aid in the examination, Documentation Tools includes Cameras, digital recorders, and computers for documenting findings, capturing images, and preparing reports.&Sample Collection Containers for collecting bodily fluids and tissues for further analysis, such as toxicology or histopathology.Autopsy room is designed to maintain controlled temperature, ventilation, and lighting to facilitate the examination process and ensure a comfortable working environment. Facilities available for cleaning and disinfecting the autopsy table and instruments after each examination to prevent cross-contamination. There is cold storage for cadavers awaiting examination and also having preserved specimens for further analysis.
