Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease. Radiology may be divided into two different areas, diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. Doctors who specialize in radiology are called radiologists.

Situated within our SKS Hospital Medical College & Research Centre Mathura, The Department of Radio Diagnosis is a pivotal diagnostic wing of the college/hospital, dedicated to providing comprehensive imaging services to in-patients, out-patients and emergency cases across all clinical and surgical departments. With the adoption of advanced equipment and a commitment to patient-centric care, the department supports timely and accurate diagnosis, guides management and facilitates teaching and research for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

To deliver high quality, safe and timely radiological imaging services with dedicated staffing, using state-of-the-art technology, thereby enabling optimum patient care and academic training.
To become a leading centre for diagnostic imaging in the region, recognised for excellence in image quality reporting turnaround, interventional services and education.

The department is conveniently located adjacent to the Out-Patient Department (OPD) block and Emergency & Trauma unit, ensuring rapid access for in-patients, surgical/ICU patients and walk-in outpatient referrals. Separate waiting areas, and dedicated procedure rooms are provided for different modalities. Mobile/bed-side imaging support is also available for critical ward/ICU patients.
Our MRI unit is the latest SIGNA Creator 1.5 T system, offering high-resolution imaging across the body. Routine and advanced protocols are available, including brain, spine, joints, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal, whole-body screening and angiography.
The 1.5 T magnet ensures excellent signal-to-noise ratio, enabling clear delineation of soft-tissue structures and pathology.
The MRI facility is staffed by experienced radiologists and technologists trained in MRI safety, contrast protocols and image-post-processing.
Open 24x7 for emergencies, trauma and inpatient referrals as required.
The department houses a GE Revolution 16-slice CT scanner, capable of rapid volumetric imaging and multi-planar reconstructions.
Services include routine non-contrast and contrast studies of head/brain, chest, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal system.
With 16-slice acquisition and advanced reconstruction algorithms, we offer high-definition imaging with optimized radiation dose.
CT-guided interventional procedures (biopsies, drainages) are performed in the department under radiologist supervision.
Our X-ray division comprises fully computed radiography units, including fixed and portable systems, serving OPD, in-patient wards, ICUs and emergency.
Routine radiographs (chest, spine, extremities, skull, and pelvis), trauma radiography, bed-side imaging and fluoroscopic procedures (such as barium swallow, HSG, MCU) are available.
Images are linked to our Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) for efficient report generation and archival.
High-end ultrasound scanners with multi-frequency probes provide comprehensive sonographic services including abdomen, pelvis, small parts (thyroid, breast, scrotum), obstetrics/gynaecology, neonatal-paediatric, musculoskeletal and vascular imaging.
Colour Doppler, spectral Doppler modules are available for evaluation of arterial/venous flow, portal hypertension, thyroid/breast lesions, liver fibrosis and other vascular disorders.
Bed-side ultrasound services are provided in ICU, wards and operation theatre as required. Ultrasound-guided interventions (FNAC, core biopsy, abscess drainage) are routinely performed.
The department remains on round-the-clock duty to provide imaging support for trauma, ICU and urgent referrals.
Radiologists actively participate in tumour boards, trauma rounds, cardiology conferences, and surgical planning meetings.
A dedicated radiation-safety team monitors dose protocols, equipment performance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
The department is integral to the teaching curriculum for MBBS and allied health sciences. Regular journal clubs, case-conferences, workshops, CMEs and student-spotter sessions are conducted.
The department encourages faculty and residents to undertake research projects, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and participate in community outreach imaging camps when required.
With the latest MRI and CT technology supplemented by comprehensive X-ray and ultrasound services, we deliver precise and comprehensive imaging
Our radiologists and technologists are highly trained, certified and experienced across all modalities.
From short waiting times, streamlined workflow, digital image access and efficient reporting, patient convenience is a priority.
Beyond diagnostics, the department offers image-guided minimally invasive procedures that assist in treatment planning and follow-up.
As part of a medical college, we emphasise education and training, ensuring best-practice protocols and cutting-edge imaging for our student community.
